Cozy and cheery—these words come to mind when you step into Stacy's, a new restaurant in Capitol Hills, Quezon City serving all-day breakfast meals, hearty comfort food, and desserts. Pastel-colored walls, soft yellow curtains and white wooden furniture give the spot a shabby-chic vibe. Thoughtful details make the quaint space more enticing, like fresh flowers on every table, a cereal and popcorn mix to munch on, and wooden tic-tac-toe games to play with while you wait for your food.

Owners Angelique Castro and Aby Nachura wanted the restaurant to reflect both their personalities: laid-back, uncomplicated and
fun. The restaurant is also an ode to Castro's grandmother, Stacy, who lived past a hundred and lived a positive, cheerful life. This ideal extends to the menu created by Nachura, who also holds a day job conceptualizing recipes at the Del Monte Kitchen.

All-day breakfast options include Stacy Jones (P195), their take on the Pinoy tapsilog using tender yakiniku beef, "anyway you like 'em" eggs, caramelized tomatoes and roasted garlic heart-shaped rice. If you love eggs and are feeling adventurous, go for the sweet-savory flavors in the Waikiki Omu-Rice (P185), a dish with pan-grilled spam and buttery mushroom fried rice folded inside a creamy two-egg omelette drizzled with Japanese mayo and tomato ketchup. The Herbed Cream Dory Fillet with Aioli Dip (P175), is a big crowd favorite, according to Castro: pan-fried soft dory marinated in herbs is served with homemade zesty aioli dip.

Stacy's also prides itself on being a kid-friendly spot: there are kiddie tables and chairs for the young ones plus a mini-play area to keep the kids from being restless.
