There's a large refrigerator full of vacuum-sealed raw steaks for you to take home to your right and a spacious, high-ceilinged dining area to your left but it is the delicious aroma of grilled steak that tantalises you from outside its doors

The menu is quite limited but the waiters know why you're here and open to the page where the steak lies. Besides a few seafood and pasta dishes, there is a selection of rib eye, tenderloin, top sirloin and a strip Grade 8 Australian Wagyu, the ultimate in melt-in-the-mouth fine steak marbling. You can have it cooked for you or you can grill it on the oven-heated stone yourself and watch it sizzle before your eyes; the latter is definitely more fun.

All steak meals come with the soup of the day, potato and vegetable sides, which are good enough and quite filling but nowhere as fantastic as the main attraction. After the carnage, treat your taste buds to something sweet, such as the sinfully velvety crème brûlée, big enough to share.

Like its menu, the wine list is limited but the Caminos by Terra Andina 2008 house wine pairs well with the marbled meat.
