Subic is located at the southwest region of the Luzon, Philippines. It is actually sandwiched between the mountain ranges of Zambales, Subic Bay and the South China Sea. It is found northwest of Bataan and southwest of Zambales. It is about 100 kilometers away from Manila.

Today, Subic is a very popular tourist destination. Over the years, the number of Subic’s local and foreign visitors has grown considerably. The conversion of the area into an economic zone has fueled its transformation as one of the prime tourist destinations in the country. If you have seen a Subic general tourist info guide, you have seen the booming tourist activities in the area and the corresponding growth of hotels, resorts and tourist destinations as well. Indeed, Subic has become one of the best alternatives to other tourist destinations in the Philippines. It is fairly convenient for many people in Manila to drive to Subic for the weekend rather than bother with airfares to other places.

Subic is also known for their beaches. There are numerous resorts in the are that you can choose from. Tourists can take a day trip or stay over the night in the various beach resorts. Although Subic beaches are not at par with the white sands of Boracay, they boast of their own unique attractions. 

Where To Go:

Bat Kingdom - This captivating site features more than 10,000 fruit bats, which are considered to be the biggest kind of bats in existence. Aside from these, it also offers shelter to the smallest specie of bats that people can find in the Philippines, Bamboo bats. To see this protected reserve, tourists should arrange with the organization that manages the place. Furthermore, they need to prepare at least 100 pesos for the entrance fee at the site.

Zoobic Safari - The Subic Bay Freeport Zone hosts a unique theme park where animals roam free. Various exotic animals can be seen within the protected area including tigers, which are some sort of a main attraction here. Safari rates are quite cheap, which is less than P500.

JEST Camp – Think you have what it takes to be in the military? Try out the jungle survival program of JEST (Jungle Environmental Survival Training). Not only does it provide you with a good workout, but you will be able to learn a lot about navigating the jungles as well. 

Ocean Adventure - This is the only open water marine park in Subic and the rest of Southeast Asia. Marine and forest animals roam freely here within their natural habitat. Main attractions here include marine animal shows in the lagoon. Each show doesn't only entertain but also educate the audience about animal conservation.

Tree Top Adventure - This is a manmade park situated in a beautiful and pristine forest. Inside the premises of this park, guests can tour the forest in an exciting way. They can admire the beauty of the site 100 feet above the ground. In order to ensure the safety of guests, the management and staff at the place use modern and  sophisticated equipment like cable rides.

How To Go There:

If you are traveling via plane, there are limited charted flights from Manila to Subic. You can also opt to land at Angeles City at the Clark International Airport.

If you are traveling by land, air-conditioned buses that leave Manila daily that goes to the Olongapo terminal. From there you can take cab or a jeepney to go to Subic.
